Ask yourself the following questions:
1) Who are you designing for? Give a brief description of the target group.
2) What is the product that you are designing?
3) What are the design considerations when designing products for the elderly?
Use the Step 1 -4 guide for Anthropometry to help you in your design.
Step 1: Decide who you are designing for
Step 2: Decide which body measurements are relevant
Step 3: Decide whether you are designing for the extreme or the average
Step 4: Think about other human factors.
How to submit:
i) Rename the file: Index number_Name_Erg&Anthropometry (Initially filename should be Index number_Name_Guiding questions)
ii) Submit the file to the submit folder by 28th July 2010

Some things that you might want to take note of in story creation:
* Do be mindful of your 5W+1H's (Who, What, Where, When, Why, How). For eg, who is your target audience, what is the message that you want to deliver, when would be an appropriate time for your clip to be shown, why do you think your clip would be most effective, etc
* The 4 key structures of a story, as mentioned in the last session on creating a story:
o PREMISE: (5W+1H, Protagonists, Antagonists, Goals)
o CONFLICT: Goals, Opposing Attributes, the Antagonists (Others, Self, the surrounding Environment)
o Crisis: Height of Conflict, Important Decision
o Climax: Resolution of Conflict, Achievement of Goals

ADMT Lesson 1 Environment - KJ Shakti
Ans: Yes!!! Definitely!!!
What we can we do to save the Earth?
Ans:
Of course we can reuse, reduce and recycle. For example, we can reuse big juice bottles as watering cans or plant pots. We can also reduce our use of plastic bags by using big recyclable bags instead, especially when we go marketing. Recycling of boxes to make art and craft, and making sure that we dump recyclables to the recycling bins, are ways we can do our part.
I also think we should plant more trees in barren land and stop cutting down trees. This is because the more trees there are, there will be less carbon emissions as plants absorbs the most carbon dioxide in this world. To add on, plants give out oxygen which we need, to live.
World leaders should start working more cooperatively with the smaller nations in the world to save the earth from its doom. During the recent United Nations Climate Change Conference Copenhagen 2009, the President of the United States of America said that they were going to take note of what was needed to be done. Only Brazil, China, US, South Africa and India were agreeable. The rest of the smaller nations were not happy with the decisions made as what the bigger nations agreed on did not really address the world issue of global warming. The smaller nations called the agreement the start of a holocaust.
I also agree with the idea of synthetic trees being developed from the baobab trees, native to Africa and Australia, to temporarily store carbon dioxide. Please read this article about it.
This would buy us some time to save the world.

ADMT Lesson 1~Enviroment
Doom will come eventually. Even if we were to help it. The harm we caused is already too much for the Earth to accept. Accept that the Earth is SICK due to us, HUMANS. All we can do now is to slow the process of global warming and climate change. Maybe in the end is still for us, 3 more degrees in the temperature and Singapore will be covered under water. That is why we are trying to recycle things. Before we even try to save Earth, we should save the other living thing which is facing facing extinction. Earth cannot live without it 'companions'. Without them, Earth is just like Mars. I am not trying to say bad things but, we cannot have so many children at home. With the increasing population, we will consume more food. Think about it, 2 parents were to give birth to 3 child, the parents dies and there will be one more extra person. But Reducing, Recycling, Reusing is still a necessity to SLOW the global warming ~Report Completed~ |

ADMT Lesson 1 Environment - Darryl Lam
Yes, human selfish acts will bring about the earth's doom as we are constantly polluting the environment, like waste materials being discharged from factories, vehicles, deforestation (e.g) burning of forest for agriculture purposes, the depleting of the ozone layer by chlorofluorocarbon also known as CFC. Now there is already a hole in the ozone layer and the UV rays which enters through that gap can kill plants. When the temperature rises as more green house gasses gets accumulated, more unwanted pest might bloom. most of our fossil fuels reserves will run out in about 50 years.
*The price of fossil fuels is getting higher every year. If the current consumption rate remains the same, proven oil reserves will last about 40 years. As for gas, it will be available for another 65 years if there are no interruptions in the supplies found in the Middle East and Russia, the world's largest gas and oil suppliers. Proven coal reserves should last another 155 years, but if we run out of gas and oil before then, we might have to use more coal to substitute energy sources. In that case, coal reserves wouldn't last more than 100 years. Also, the fossil fuel consumption rate is growing every year so we have even less time before the energy starvation begins.*
(*some of the information is from this HTML:http://www.bionomicfuel.com/fossil-fuels-reserves-will-not-last-long/)
What we can we do to save the Earth?
We can save Earth by cutting C02 which is released from fossilfuels by using solar power, wind power, hydro power, geothermal energy, osmotic power, nuclear power, biofuels, carbon capture and storage, carbon trading and geoengeneering.
Protection of Water bodies: Careful and integrated land use planning, close monitoring of the quality of waterways, Ensure treated water meets WHO's guidelines.
3rs' = Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
(some of the information is from The Straits Time Saturday D1)
Ng Yuzhe
Yes, because if we keep cutting off trees, drilling the ground, polluting the seas and killing animals
What we can we do to save the Earth?
We can stop cutting off trees and we should use the 3Rs: Reuse, reduce and recycle.
Reuse: We can reuse water from the washing machine to wash the floor.
Reduce: We should not waste water and other resources we have.
Recycle: We can put paper, bottles and cans we use and put them in recycling bins.
Benz Kew
Ans: Of course it will bring about the Earth's doom. At that time, it is too late to change the past and only regret about one self's selfish acts.
What we can we do to save the Earth?
Ans: We could ride a bike to school or work.
Turn off the lights and water whenever you go out of the room or the bathroom.
Reuse plastic bags. Example: Cover the rubbish bin with a plastic bag to prevent the rubbish bin from getting dirty.
Only use what you need. Do not get more than enough plastic bags because it is free.
TOGETHER WE CAN PLAY A PART, EVEN IF IT IS A TINY LITTLE PART, and if everyone else does too, slowly but surely, we'll save the planet!
ADMT Lesson 1- Jurvis Tan
ADMT~1st lesson~Tay Pei Shan
Yes it will.
What we can we do to save the Earth?
We can reduce, reuse and recycle.
Reduce~ Do not waste water
Reuse~ Reuse (eg.)old plastic bottles to make terrariums
Recycle~ Recycle used plastic bags by using it to wrap food to place it in the freezer

ADMT Lesson 1 Environment - Idris
Abilash
We can save the Earth by reducing Global warming and conserving electricity. We can reduce global warming by using CFC-free sprays planting trees rather than cutting them using electricity produced from solar panels , reduce use of fuels by taking public transport instead of driving your own car or else we can carpool , use products with less packaging and mainly bring your own shopping bags instead of using plastic bags !
